Clearly an inferior revision. Appears to be identical, but has slightly fewer capacitors and other chips, some other chips in the same location on the motherboard appear to be smaller than Rev 2.

Functionality appears to be consistent. Either way, that is why we double check!

Keep in mind that if their readings are something Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 (rev. 1.2) like 0. If nothing is reporting even close to what you've set it, provided you've set it high enough to be outside margin-of-error, then go back into the BIOS and change just the NB Voltage at the bottom; repeat steps above.

In all likelihood it was just renamed for one reason or another. Another concern is I'm not sure how well attached the North Bridge heatsink is.

It seems to have a bit of Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 (rev. 1.2). I haven't had any problems, but it's nervewracking. Beyond those concerns, this is an affordable, very competent board, its narrow which means it might miss a few standoffs, but still stable, and it means you have more room to work around it in your case.

Annoyingly, the Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 (rev. 1.2) Power input is in the top left corner, which is quite a stretch for bottom mounted PSUs like I have, and I'd imagine just an awkward angle for top mounted ones. The overclocking features in bios are diverse, everything is available for you to tweak, and with their tuning solution you can change your HT clock wrongly named FSB from Windows.

What did the previous BIOS revision voltage list consist of preferably in order as it displayed, if you happen to remember? If so, what speed are you aiming for and voltages have you tried?

And depending on what speed you're going for, what is your motivation? I only ask the latter because there is a point when the IMC's link speed exceeds the memory system's throughput and so the increase is for naught. The A-D3 motherboard is designed to offer a stable, high-speed platform for delivering amazingly fast data transfer via the GIGABYTE onboard.
